One of the complex medicines for the therapy of ischemia, angina, the consequences of myocardial infarction and anxiety is Inderal. It has antihypertensive, anti-anginal and antiarrhythmic actions, normalizes the work of the heart muscle.

This beta-blocker causes rapid calming of the pulse, shortening of the heartbeat, and as a result, helps to cope with the panic attack and to normalize the emotional state.

That’s why in case of anxiety with the risk of development of panic attacks, doctors strongly recommend that you always carry a couple of Inderal tablets with you.

The drug contains propranolol as an active substance and is manufactured in the form of tablets, solution for injections and capsules.

The principle of the drug is based on an indiscriminate blocking of beta-adrenoreceptors, decreasing of the formation of cyclic adenosine monophosphate and the intake of calcium ions into the cell. Due to this, the negative inotropic effect is formed, contractility of the myocardium decreases, the pulse becomes less frequent.

Propranolol is included in the group of antiarrhythmic drugs of the second group. It reduces postinfarction lethality, prevents the development of headaches, the severity of tremor.

The use of the drug has a wide range of indications. The primary administrations of Inderal are diseases of the cardiovascular system: angina pectoris; arterial hypertension; sinus tachycardia; unstable angina; atrial tachyarrhythmia; supraventricular tachycardia; myocardial infarction; alcohol abstinence; ventricular extrasystole; essential tremor; thyrotoxic crisis; diffuse-toxic goiter; sympathoadrenal crises; pheochromocytoma; anxiety.

For better assimilation and quick effect, it is necessary to put the tablet under the tongue, and allow it to dissolve in saliva.

During the treatment, you should regularly check the blood sugar level, monitor the pressure, pulse, electrocardiogram. In the elderly, monitoring of the state of the kidneys is necessary.
